The Communication module — Overview

Modified on Wed, 6 May at 5:32 PM

The Communication module lets you send email and SMS campaigns to your contacts, and manage reusable message templates. This guide covers the interface and the features shared across both sections of the module.

Prerequisites

Access required: the Communication module requires an active payment profile key on your account. If you do not see this module in the menu, contact your administrator or our support team.

Where to find it: in the left-hand side menu, click Communication.

The Communication module interface

The Communication module is organised into three areas:

  • The central panel — displays the list of your campaigns or templates depending on the active tab.
  • The right panel — displays the detail of a selected item, or the creation/edit form. When no item is selected, it shows the message "Select an item to read it."
  • The left-hand navigation bar — accessible throughout the module.

The central list shows for each campaign:

  • An icon indicating the type (envelope for email, phone for SMS).
  • The recipients of the campaign.
  • The send date and time.
  • The subject of the campaign.

The central list shows for each template:

  • An icon indicating the type (envelope for email, phone for SMS).
  • The name of the template.
  • The creation date.

Switching between Campaigns and Templates

At the top of the central panel, two tabs let you switch between the two sections of the module:

  • Campaigns — displays the list of all your sent campaigns.
  • Templates — displays the list of your reusable message templates.

The active tab is underlined in blue. Click either tab to switch sections.

Good to know: when you switch tabs, any active filters are reset.

Creating a new campaign or template

  1. Click the "New" button at the top right of the central panel.
  2. A drop-down menu appears with two options: Email and SMS.
  3. Select the type you want.
  4. The creation form opens in the right panel, while the list remains visible in the central panel.

Searching the list

A search field is available at the top of the list (labelled "Search by subject").

  • The list filters in real time as you type.
  • The "List (N)" counter updates to reflect the number of matching items.
  • The search applies to the active section (Campaigns or Templates).

Filtering the list

To refine the list with additional criteria:

  1. Click the funnel icon to the right of the search field.
  2. The filter panel appears below the search bar.

Available filters for campaigns:

CriterionOptions
TypeAll / Email / SMS
Send period — start dateDate picker (DD/MM/YYYY)
Send period — end dateDate picker (DD/MM/YYYY)

Available filters for templates:

CriterionOptions
TypeAll / Email / SMS
  1. Fill in one or more criteria, then click "Filter the list".
  2. The list updates. A badge appears on the funnel button to indicate that a filter is active.

To close the filter panel: click the "X" button that replaces the funnel icon when the panel is open.

Good to know: you can combine text search and advanced filters. If you click "Filter the list" without entering any criteria, all items are displayed.
